Reception at City Hall

The City Hall in Kecskemét was built in Art Nouveau Style relying upon the plans of Ödön Lechner the creator of Hungarian architectural style of centenary. In it's ceremony hall the frescos of Bertalan Székely perpetuate Hungarian history from "Vérszerződés" (Blood-sealed treaty) until "Kiegyezés" (The compromise of 1867). Presenting the prominent figures of bloody battles, great glories and revolutions our guests can get to know Hungarian history in course of an exciting performance.
The program is planned at 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 and at 11:30 and takes 30 minutes.

 
Sightseeing  

Let you to discover the significant buildings in Kecskemét, let you to get to know their history and present! Our walk is starting at the main square of the city. The main square served formerly as a market place - know as one of the most beautiful city centres in the country. Its determinant buildings are the Big Church and the Town Hall.

   
Visit to the Zwack Factory and Pálinka Manufacture Museum  

The first place of our visit is the old distillery built in the beginning of the century - today an industry-historical fame with musicological value. In this place our guide makes our guests acquainted with grape- and fruit-growing past of the city. You also watch a short film about the Zwack family and the history of the fabric. Second station is the today's distillery of European standard, established with many hundred millions total volume of investments. After this you are invited into the manufacturing room, later on in the bottling room you can take a good look, how do the drinks obtain their final appearance. On the last station of our visit you can find in the vitrines the materials of an exhibition, objective and written relics present the history of Zwack Unicum Co. from 1790 and the past and present of the company in Kecskemét and of apricot brandy. You can taste two art of the Zwack brandy. After the exhibition you can buy own products for trade price in HUF in the Museum Shop. The programme takes app. 1,5 hours.

Lunch in the Karikás Csárda.

Near the entrance some replicas of ancient shepherds buildings are displayed. The terminal point is the Shepherds Museum showing up nicely against its background, houses an exhibition of the flora and fauna of the region and the life of the shepherds.

Our shepherd-clothed stewards send off our guests with a real pastoral meal: "keménylebbencs" (pastry cut into big irregular squares and boiled in the kettle) and a glass of wine.
